Today, being eco-friendly is no longer a choice but a necessity. This is especially true in South Florida, where the waterways are in our backyard. As a company, SFM Services takes the responsibility to protect our environment very seriously. We’re committed to supporting local environmental initiatives, like cleaning up the islands on Biscayne Bay.
These islands aren’t just a source of fun and relaxation for boaters. They’re also critical habitats for many species of wildlife. Birds, turtles, and other animals make their homes in or near the South Florida waterways. ☝ Watch our video to the end to see just one of the creatures that call these islands home!
Keeping the bay clean is crucial to maintaining a healthy environment. And we can all help by making just two small changes in our daily lives.
- Stop littering. Whether you throw a bottle cap out your car window on I75 or Miami Beach, it will end up in Biscayne Bay. All of our trash gets swept up in storm drains that empty out in canals that lead to the bay.
- Boat responsibly. Areas frequented by boaters and watercraft enthusiasts are choking with pollution. We know trash starts to accumulate after a day out on the boat, but don’t leave it behind. And definitely don’t drop it into bins that are already overflowing with trash. All that waste will get swept into the bay when the tide rolls in.
At SFM Services, we care about more than just making a profit. We care about the planet and its future, and we are committed to doing our part to protect it.
